The Story and Case of Antonio D. Jones
Antonio Jones has served 21 years in prison for a crime he did not commit, and every day is a struggle. Wrongfully convicted of four counts of Murder in the Perpetration of Robbery and sentenced to die in prison is a hard pill to swallow.
There was “NO PHYSICAL EVIDENCE” connecting him to the scene of the crime. NO BLOOD, BALLISTICS EVIDENCE, DNA, ETC. . .OR OTHER EYEWITNESSES’ TESTIMONY EXCEPT FOR THE FALSE AND PERJURED TESTIMONY BY LENZO AARON links Jones to the scene of the crime.
Jones also had two alibi-witnesses attesting to his whereabouts during the commission of the crime. There was overwhelming physical evidence contradicting Aaron’s testimony. The 7th Circuit Court in Jones v. Basinger, 635 F.3d at 1054, found Aaron’s testimony to be: “INHERENTLY UNBELIEVABLE” and “INCONSISTENCE WITH OTHER EVIDENCE.” Det. Jackson sided with Aaron over the physical evidence contradicting his testimony. Why? Because Detective Jackson was good friends with Aaron’s father, who was the Gary City Fire Chief.
As it relates to the overwhelming physical evidence contradicting Aaron’s testimony, Aaron testified to: Jones receiving a call from one of the four victims, A.M., wherein, A.M. allegedly told Jones that he had $6,000 and asked Jones for a ride to go buy some cocaine. The problem with Aaron’s testimony is: One, there is no phone call listed in the phone records to support Aaron’s testimony and two, large amount of drugs were found in three different area of the residence.
In spite of Jones’s wrongful conviction, he assist other prisoners regarding their legal matters and mentor countless prisoners. If there is any way you can assist Jones in clearing his name, he appreciates any and all help provided.
