Westville Control Unit (WCU) UnLawful Conditions (Sept. 22)
There are three showers flooded out on the Tan, Yellow, and the Peach sections on A Pod.
The phone needs repair in the Peach section on A pod.
Windows and recreation pads need to be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
Basketballs are flat and need to be replaced immediately so prisoners can enjoy their outside recreation.
The Doctor has a backlogged list of unseen prisoners.which ultimately amounts to serious medical neglect.
All prisoners at WCU are being fed old expired food that is primarily cold, from a menu that never changes.
We call upon the outside collectives and all activists who stand against prisoner abuse to demand the Governor’s office to send his liaison to immediately inspect this unit (WCU) thoroughly. We demand:
That prisoners be interviewed on and about the deplorable conditions existing inside WCU, plus allow them to speak truth to the violations and personal abuses they have experienced while here..
Leonard McQuay #874304 who was transferred here from Miami Corr. Facility on May 24, 2022 has been trying to seek help concerning a marble sized bump on his left temple, which is getting bigger by the day. The Doctor is aware of it, but has appeared to not see it as serious. It’s not only painful; it hurts and is affecting his vision. This has to be seen by an outside specialist. Could be a lipoma or cancerous.
Part two:
I will be conducting an interview with Prison Radio, and preparing a scathing press release on the new phases of warfare the Department of Corrections are utilizing to control those of us who for years they have never been able to control even after having us buried alive inside these chambers of unquestionable horrors. We need to have a massive protest at the Governor’s mansion and the Commissioner’s office. Placing focus on these units: Restricted Housing Unit at Miami CF, the Secure Housing Unit at Wabash Valley CF, and this damn unit they are calling WCU (Westville Control Unit).

I have been fighting a civil lawsuit against the Internal Affairs unit at Wabash Valley prison now for over two years for retaliation against me when they fired me from my job working as a sanitation worker in their OSB building. That included the cleaning of the bathrooms for the nurses and medical staff. I was never given a conduct report or a bad evaluation. I was removed from my housing unit (the PLUS program), called to the receiving area and questioned about some contraband I had no clue about.
When I refused to cooperate, I was threatened with being sent back to solitary confinement. They did just that – sent me to the Secured Housing Unit (SHU).
Shortly after it was filed in court, they transferred me from Wabash to Miami Corr. Facility.
On May 24, I got transferred to Westville Control Unit.J ust two weeks ago, the investigators visited and toured this unit. By the time they left, rumors started to surface that they provided the administrators here disinformation to slander my name, and create an environment of distrust among the prisoners, and caused the staff to harass me in any way they can in support of the defendants in my lawsuit.
The psychological warfare has begun and I might get placed in transit in tne coming days. The suit is in a critical phase and I have submitted my settlement demand. Please stay tuned.
Update 10/19/22
Unprofessionalism Up Close And Personal – Report on Dangerous Medical Malpractice at WCU
On 10/18/22, I was pulled from my cell to be examined by a very irresponsible medical Doctor [Dr. Liaw]. For some time now I have wanted medical treatment to remove a large bump I have near my left temple area. The doctor cleaned the area three times, then he shot me up with a numbing agent.
Then he attempted to drain what he has said appears to be a cyst. It would not drain, it began to bleed out very badly and the doctor seemed to be confused and panicked. He immediately wanted to place bandages on my wound and send me back to my cell.
Before he could get it out of his mouth, I stated, “This has to get treated right now, it can’t be put off any longer”
He gathered his thoughts, then told the officers that he wanted me brought to the Westville prison triage area.
Once I got there, with the assistance of another nurse, the doctor made the wound larger, this time he had all of what he needed to complete an extraction. He made the incision and blood splattered out real fast. He must have seen it was too much for him to cover so he asked the nurse to stitch me up.
He advised me that it was hard and he wanted a more skilled person to handle it.
So he made a call to have [me] taken to an outside facility. This entire situation was completely done unprofessionally. We have to expose how this doctor dropped the ball. He committed medical malpractice and I am now forced to file a lawsuit behind his actions.
