Long-term Indiana political prisoner Aaron “Israel” Isby is currently on hunger strike at Miami CF to demand that his kosher diet be respected and that he and everyone else at the facility who are supposed to receive kosher diets receive their food in accordance with IDOC Policy and Procedure.
Currently the Aramark Food Service Supervisor at Miami CF, a Mr. Pulley, has changed the way kosher meals are distributed, so that all of the kosher meals for the day are distributed in the morning, which means that those who receive kosher diets are not getting their meals hot or fresh. This is a violation of the Constitutional right to equal protection under the law, because it violates the religious rights of those receive kosher meals as part of their religious practice. Mr. Pulley made the decision to distribute all the kosher meals in the morning himself, and doing so was outside his contractual authority as the Aramark Food Service Manager because it violates IDOC Food Service Policy & Procedure 04-01-301.
